If you're in 'travel planning' mode, let us help you by giving you ten reasons why Las Vegas should be at the top of your list of places to visit. Sure, there are the obvious reasons the mega resorts, the shopping - but our list goes beyond that to give you some other reasons you may not have thought of. Las Vegas is a great little city - it's small in size, but big in every other way! No matter your budget, your style or your likes (and dislikes), this little gem in the desert has got everything you could want and then some more!

1. Lets start with the basics - Vegas has year-round great weather... Sure, it gets hot - up to about 115°F in the middle of summer, but everywhere is air-conditioned so you go out, then duck back inside to cool off, or hit the pool or Lake Mead. Winter does bring cooler temps but you will never have to trudge through snow on the Strip or wear heavy coats. The best times to visit are in Spring and Fall - and we rarely get rain, so outdoor activities abound.

2. Las Vegas is ironically located in a natural wonderland - polar opposite to the man-made Las Vegas Strip. There are so many stunning places close by to visit if you need a little calming respite. Red Rock Canyon is just 30 minutes away and can be seen from the High Roller. The Valley of Fire is also just a 45 minute drive north where you can hike, dune buggy or ride a horse along the outskirts of. And then the granddaddy of them all - The Grand Canyon. Whilst this may be in Arizona - it's still only a 45 minute helicopter flight to the Canyon's west rim.

3. You can't deny that Las Vegas is the Entertainment Capital of the World. There is not a night that there's no headliner, production show, Broadway show or a lounge act that won't surprise and delight! Vegas is the place long seen as an end goal, the pinnacle of a career and this is often a determining factor in people coming to Vegas. Want to see Sting, Rod Stewart, Robbie Williams, Jerry Seinfeld, Britney, Adele, Aerosmith, Carrie Underwood and Celine Dion... All these and more have left their mark on this desert oasis and will continue to do so.

4. Lets talk travel. Las Vegas is situated next to California, so a very easy approximate 4-hour drive from SoCal cities. It's also a hub for Southwest, Frontier, Allegiant and Spirit Airlines (most of which are also considered somewhat lower cost airlines) so traveling here is very easy and in 'normal' times, quite inexpensive. Vegas is also very close to historic Route 66 - just 1.5 hours from both Kingman, AZ and Needles, CA so a perfect stop-off on a cross-country road-trip.

5. Now, we all need to eat and there is no shortage of world-class restaurants in Las Vegas. The list of Celebrity Chefs that have restaurants here is longer than your arm - names such as Gordon Ramsay, Alain Ducasse, Emeril Lagasse, Giada De Laurentiis, Tom Colicchio, Morimoto, Bobby Flay, Todd English, UNLV Alum Guy Fieri, Michael Mina, Wolfgang Puck, Joël Robuchon and Guy Savoy and many more.. Not all these chefs just have uber expensive restaurants, so you can still taste these Chef's creations no matter your budget. To sample some great Vegas restaurants, try joining a food tour.

Additionally, Dayclubs and Pool Parties during summer are a huge draw which most hotels offer.. Some of he top clubs include Drais at The Cromwell, Zouk at Resorts World, Hakkasan at MGM Grand and Omnia at Caesars Palace. Of couse, if you want to skip the line and visit a few clubs, try a club tour which also incudes a party bus between locations.

Each hotel has spas, but our favorites are Awana Spa at Resorts World and Canyon Ranch Spa at the Venetian Resort. These top spas offer everything you could wish for - massages, facials, nutritionists, saunas, salons and meditation pods.. Everyone deserves some relaxation and 'me' time!

Any avid golfer can find a course to suit their needs from the course that Tiger Woods won his first professional event on - TPC Summerlin to the Par 81 course, Bali Hai, right on the Las Vegas Strip. There are about 70 golf courses to play in Vegas with the top one being the ultra exclusive Shadow Creek.

9. Las Vegas has come a very long way in the world of sports. There used to just be the Triple A Baseball team - the Aviators (formerly the 51's) who play May - September, but now Vegas has grown up and joined the big leagues! Our first professional team was the unlikely choice of Ice Hockey. The Vegas Golden Knights - a team of misfits - made the T-Mobile Arena their fortress at a time when Las Vegas needed a guiding light. The team became our hometown heroes as they competed in the Stanley Cup finals in their first year. Then came The Raiders, and their brand new home at the state-of-the-art Allegiant Stadium. We also have the Las Vegas Aces (WNBA), Las Vegas Lights (Soccer), Silver Knights (American Hockey League) and word is, one of the MLB teams will be moving here very soon too!

There's so many things to do here - from RZR Rides in the desert to helicopter flights over the Strip or an exotic car driving experience, it's really hard to choose only a few! I guess that means you'll have to make another trip here?
