Our Top Ten Favorite Bars

Updated: May 28, 2022

In Las Vegas, there is an unbelievable choice of bars to get your libations on - from kitschy tiki bars to bars with million-dollar views. As Vegas locals, we definitely have our favorites! Here are our picks of 'must-do' bars in Las Vegas!

So let's start with the dive bars... One of the most famous and deliciously dirty bars in town is the Double Down Saloon on Paradise Rd. Any bar who's signature drink is 'Ass Juice' and slogan is "Shut Up & Drink" has got to be an interesting place to go. This 24-hour, cash only bar is certainly an experience..

Frankie's Tiki Room is the sister bar to the Double Down Saloon. This dark and intimate bar located on West Charleston Blvd pays homage to the tropical tiki bars of days gone by. Serving up a flavorful menu of island inspired cocktails amongst colorful lanterns and tikis, this iconic bar is a favorite of both tourists and locals.

Another favorite tiki bar in Las Vegas is the Golden Tiki on Spring Mountain. This 'haunted' bar is a wild and crazy ride with live music, a tropical inspired menu featuring classics such as Kalua Pig, Pupu platter and a favorite - Dole Whip! There are always fun events happening here from the afternoon through to the early hours.

A local bar featured on Bar Rescue Season 8 is Paradise Cantina on Paradise & Harmon. This industry favorite bar is known for good food, 4 happy hours throughout the day and night and the best bartenders around. It's central location makes this a great place to meet friends, watch a game and just chillax with both indoor and patio seating. Run to Paradise!

The next bar we're taking you to is a little off the beaten track in Goodsprings, less than 30 minutes from the Strip. The Pioneer Saloon established in 1913 is a biker bar with a history. This is the place where movie star Clark Gable paced the floor waiting for news on his wife, Carole Lombard after her plane crashed into nearby Mt Potosi in 1942. This busy saloon serves up tasty burgers, lots of whiskey and fun times!

Moseying downtown you'll find a number of cool bars on Fremont East. First up is the oldest free-standing bar in Las Vegas, Atomic Liquors. Celebs such as The Rat Pack, Barbra Streisand and The Smothers Brothers were known to come and hang out here after their shows to avoid the fans on the Strip. Also famous for being in hit movies such as The Hangover and Casino, this is one place in Vegas where history lives on!

A few blocks west is the Commonwealth located on Fremont and 6th Street. This hip, cool bar is the epitome of what Fremont East is all about. This place has an outdoor rooftop patio, craft cocktails and a 'secret' hidden bar within a bar - the Laundry Room. Laundry Room's 22 seat, reservation only bar prides itself on personally hand-crafted cocktails based on the guest's tastes and desires. Reservations are required.

As you may have guessed by now, locals don't generally spend a great deal of time on the Strip. We have a love/hate relationship with it - the traffic is overflowing, it's crowded, often pretentious but at the same time, has an abundance of everything that makes this city so special. Needless to say, this list is predominantly off -Strip. There are a few 'Strip' bars that made our list though:

The Fireside Lounge at the Peppermill is probably the most well-known Vegas institution. Located across the street from Resorts World, this pink and purple neon lounge harks back to the seventies and offers food, cocktails and a sunken fireplace! This timeless classic should definitely be on the 'must visit' list!

For one of the most amazing 180 degree views of the Strip - with an outdoor balcony is the Skyfall Lounge at Delano Las Vegas. Whether you come just to watch the setting desert sun with a cocktail in hand or to dance the night away to DJ's spinning dance tunes - this is truly one of the best views of the Strip in the city.

Last but not least is one of the most stunning bars on the Strip - the Chandelier Bar at the Cosmopolitan Hotel. The multi-levels allow for a different experience at each bar, and each with it's own craft cocktail menu. This is the place to see and be seen in Vegas!

So that's our list of our favorite bars in Las Vegas. They may not all be everyone's cup of tea, but each and every one is unique in its own way, embraces this city we call home and have all stood the test of time & made it safely out the other side!
